Embossed Quilting -- The Craft Trend for Quilting

Quilting was born in France in the 11th century. At the end of the 19th century, riding suits are very popular and often applies quilting because of its warmth. In 1955, Lady Coco Chanel who loves horse racing creates the popular 2.55 bag inspired by the racecourse, and then quilting truly steps into the fashion world. In A/W 21/22, quilting returns back with the classic look, and the exquisite embossment makes quilting warm and artistic.

The most classic Chanel rhomboid quilting is flatter in A/W 21/22, weakening the inflated feel of conventional quilting. It is applied to the basic outerwear, creating an effect of wearing lining outside. The orderly rhomboid quilting delivers a rustic and retro feel, comfortable and warm.

S-shaped quilting enriches the simple silhouette. Rachel Comey uses color-blocked stitches to emphasize the outline of S-shaped quilting. And the layered effect enhances the layered sense.

Geometric quilting is more interesting. The angular quilting is designed as different shapes to decorate the surface and highlight the texture. Nehera uses repetitive geometrics to highlight the entire structure.
